Facebook shutting down Gifts to focus on Buy button

The social network will close the gift-card store, Amazon is paying Prime users for slower shipping, and EA launches a Netflix-like subscription service for games on Xbox One.

• -Bid farewell to Facebook Gifts. The network will close the gift-card shop on August 12, and will likely spend more time expanding use of the new "Buy" button.
• -Need a buck? Choose the slower option on your Amazon Prime purchase. Prime members that don't use the two-day shipping can get $1 in credit to spend on digital video.
• -Play popular EA games with a new subscription service on Xbox One. EA Access costs $5 a month, or $30 a year, for access to select EA games.
